Sunset Acres/Green Empire Farms

In the heart of Oneida, NY, Green Empire Farms stands as a testament to ambitious earthwork and infrastructure endeavors. This colossal project, the largest single-build greenhouse in North America, sprawls over 2.78 million square feet—nearly 49 football fields. Under the SUNSET brand, this greenhouse is set to produce a staggering 45 million pounds of strawberries, tomatoes, and cucumbers annually.

Our role in this mammoth undertaking encompassed earthmoving, utilities, and paving. Shifting over 500,000 cubic yards of dirt, we meticulously balanced the site, creating the foundation for the greenhouse. Two expansive 22-acre rainwater collection basins were crafted to support the greenhouse's hydroponic watering system, while a finely graded soccer field added a touch of recreation for employees.

Utility work saw the installation of cutting-edge water and sewer distribution systems. As a finishing touch, we illuminated the site with state-of-the-art lighting and laid over 10,000 tons of asphalt for roads and parking areas.
